PUNEETH AND AINDRITA BAG FIRST AKKA AWARD

The super power star of Kannada cinema Puneeth Rajakumar bagged the best actor award at the recently concluded AKKA 6th World Kannada Conference three days event held from 3rd September to 5th September 2010 at Edison in New Jersey, Gubbi Veeranna stage on Sunday evening in a colorful event.

Comedy hero Jaggesh has received the lifetime achievement award at this function filled with grandeur.

This is the first year AKKA has instituted film awards. While Puneeth Rajakumar is the best actor for ‘Raam’ block buster Aindrita Ray the Chaco bar actress of Kannada cinema bagged the best actress award for her ‘Manasaare’ Kannada film. For Mathe Bandha Ganesha film Vijaya Raghavendra also bagged the award in a crowded gathering that liked the stepping of stars than songs at the event.

It is at this event Puneeth Rajakumar promised to talk to the KFCC to expand the Kannada film market. With the expansion of market the artists and industry should progress and shine he felt.The massive 4000 attendance with this promise whistled and applauded.

Jaggesh Navarasa Nayaka present at the 6th WKC remembered the slogan ‘Yeesa Beku Idda Jaisa Beku’. We are all following the footsteps of Dr Rajakumar he said. I do not watch DVD but films I see only in theatres he gathered the attention for his speech.

The other awards went to Harsha for best choreographer; Santosh of Nooru Janmaku bagged the best upcoming actor.

Jhenkar dance and music team thrilled with selected songs. Puneeth Rajakumar danced for Milana song Ninnindhale….and Hey Paaru…. Vijaya Raghavendra danced for Bhagyadha balegara Hogi Baa…. And Mayadhanta Malebanthanna…. Aindrita Ray danced for Junglee film ‘Hale Paper Hale Kabbina….Santosh, Srimurali also took part in the cultural activities.

Gurukiran rendered the chow chow song at this event.
